Cross US – Canada border daily with AP to go to work

I am a Canadian PR living in Canada and working in US on H1B. I do cross border commute daily. My H1B stamp is about to expire and am planning to go for stamping. I was stuck in the name check for couple months last time when went for H1B stamping and possible that I may be stuck again this time. I used to live in US so applied for AOS at the time and have a valid AP. Company attorney is telling me that I can’t commute daily on AP to come to work if I get stuck in name check. I took second opinion from another attorney and was told that there should be no issue with going back and forth daily on AP but advised me that as soon as I get H1B stamp, I should commute with H1B and no longer with AP.

I am checking to see if anyone has done that before (cross border daily on AP) or any expert opinions on this.

I don't think it is possible. AP is not meant for daily travel.
